Requirements Case Study No. 5

2nd September 2015

These are requirements that we have received, with information relating to the identity of the originator removed.

Requirements received

What I am trying to achieve is an online database where designers can upload their artwork, which could be purchased by users.

The site would be fairly similar to the Architectural Association School of Architecture photo library, which as I understand is using your system. The main differences are:

  • I would like users to be able to purchase/download files online
  • Designers would have a section (similarly to AA’s photographers one) which would be a bit more portfolio like.
  • Social media integration
  • I love the AA’s clean site, and this is very similar to the one I am after, I would need banner advertisement placed here and there.
Requirements Case Study

The library must be able to host video as well as images and other artwork file formats.

Further requirements

  • The library must have the facility for other organisations to upload images, video and artwork. These users will be known to us and given login details to access the upload function.
  • Uploaded images should be kept in a holding area for staff to approve before joining the main library.
  • The library must allow staff to set permissions for every folder. This will determine which other users can access it.
  • The library will have an area that can only be accessed by staff.
  • All users will have to login to the system. This will enable the system to know who they are, and therefore which folders they can view.
  • There are up to 75 staff who will use the system.
  • Companies sometimes send artwork in a format that needs the original design software to open it. It would be useful if the library, or alternative software could be found to allow such files to be viewed.

Requirements met: The iBase digital asset management system fulfils all of these requirements.
