Bradford Museums and Galleries

Online photographic library

Bradford's fascinating history is displayed using an online photographic archive made up of smaller collections which can be viewed online.

The photographic library of Bradford Museums and Galleries is housed at Bradford Industrial Museum, Eccleshill, Bradford. It consists of more than 350,000 glass and film negatives and prints.

  • Visitors are offered many ways to explore the content to lead them immediately to the most relevant and interesting photographs. Four main collections (Aerial, Commerce, Industry and People) initially group the archives, which are then further organised into smaller groups of exhibitions. All digital files within these higher level organisational groups are then tagged into categories.
  • To keep returning visitors engaged with new content, the homepage contains a Recently Digitised section that only displays new content added in the previous 3 months.
  • Third party designers supplied their custom design templates to simply snap on top of the iBase framework.
