Bradford Museums Photo Library

4th October 2005

Using iBase digital asset management, Bradford Museums and Galleries have launched their new Photo Library, with collections including the C. H. Wood photographic archive, Belle Vue Studio, and the Christopher Pratt collection.

Charles Harold Wood, widely recognised as C.H. Wood, started his career in photography in 1922. A decade later he set up C.H. Wood (Bradford) Ltd. and went on to become one of the best known photographers in the region. The archive contains more than 300,000 negatives and prints, including on the photo library nearly a thousand very high quality monochrome aerial photographs which provide a unique view of Bradford’s cultural, architectural and industrial heritage.
