Northamptonshire County Council archives is a major resource containing thousands of documents and images relating to Northamptonshire through the ages. They required an online presence in order to allow those who cannot visit in person the ability to access the collection in digital form. Their requirements included -

  • All digital files can either be set for public or private access, enabling some items to be viewed only by staff.
  • Embedded descriptive metadata to be automatically mapped from images into specified fields.
  • A full log of search history enabling allowing System Managers to run reports.
  • Unlimited concurrent users.
  • No limit on the number of digital items.
  • The ability for users to purchase and download prints of images for a fixed fee.
