Online Library - Technical
If you are non-technical it isn't necessary to read this page. iBase Media Services can handle all aspects of setting up your system, and will deal directly with I.T. Departments where required.
Note: If iBase Manager is being used in conjunction with Online Library, see also iBase Manager Technical Requirements.

There are two main ways of deploying the iBase Online Library
Option 1
Option 1 - a single database. The local server, the web server and the asset store can all be on the same machine, or each can be on separate machines 'visible' on a network to the others.
Option 2
Option 2 - a single source database from which assets and metadata are published (Note 1) to destination databases for one or more Online Library web / intranet sites.
Source database records can be published separately to each of the destination databases. Each site can look different if required, and present only the records published to it. This can be useful where, for example, all records should be visible to internal users on their intranet, but a subset of them only appear on a public website.
Note 1: iBase Publish is a background utility for publishing selected records from a source database to one or more destination databases. ... more about Publish
